The Annapurna Tilicho Trek is a spectacular Himalayan adventure combining the scenic Annapurna region with a visit to Tilicho Lake, one of the world’s highest lakes at approximately 4,919 m. The trek passes through beautiful mountain villages, lush valleys, rugged landscapes, Buddhist monasteries, and dramatic views of the Annapurna, Gangapurna, Manaslu, and Dhaulagiri ranges. The journey can also be combined with the famous Thorong La Pass (5,416 m) and the sacred Muktinath area, making it an excellent choice for trekkers seeking both natural beauty and cultural experiences.

Mustang Trek – Itinerary
Day 1: Kathmandu to Besisahar
Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar through scenic hills, rivers, and countryside.
Day 2: Besisahar to Chame
Continue by road to Chame, the administrative center of Manang, surrounded by spectacular mountains.
Day 3: Chame to Pisang
Trek through pine forests and beautiful mountain landscapes to Pisang.
Day 4: Pisang to Manang
Walk through traditional villages and enjoy impressive views of Annapurna II, III, IV and Gangapurna.
Day 5: Acclimatization in Manang
Rest and explore Manang village while taking a short hike to nearby viewpoints.
Day 6: Manang to Khangsar
Trek through the scenic valley toward Khangsar, a traditional Himalayan village.
Day 7: Khangsar to Tilicho Base Camp
Continue through rugged high-altitude terrain to Tilicho Base Camp.
Day 8: Tilicho Lake Excursion & Return
Early morning hike to Tilicho Lake (4,919 m), enjoy the spectacular scenery, and return to the base camp.
Day 9: Tilicho Base Camp to Yak Kharka
Retrace the trail and continue toward Yak Kharka through beautiful alpine landscapes.
Day 10: Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi
Trek gradually higher toward Thorong Phedi, preparing for the challenging pass crossing.
Essential Information
The Annapurna Tilicho Trek is a moderate-to-challenging high-altitude trek that reaches Tilicho Lake (4,919 m) and Thorong La Pass (5,416 m). The trail passes through diverse landscapes, from lush forests and river valleys to rugged alpine terrain, with spectacular views of the Annapurna and surrounding Himalayan ranges. Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are the best seasons for clear weather and mountain views. Proper acclimatization is essential, especially before reaching Tilicho Lake and Thorong La Pass. Trekkers should carry suitable warm clothing, trekking shoes, water, sunscreen, a first-aid kit, and travel insurance. A licensed guide and the required trekking permits are also recommended.
