Overview
The Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of the world’s most legendary trekking adventures, offering an incredible journey through the diverse landscapes of the Annapurna region. The trail passes through lush subtropical forests, alpine meadows, deep river valleys, remote mountain villages, and the high-altitude desert of Mustang. The highlight of the trek is crossing the spectacular Thorong La Pass (5,416 m / 17,769 ft), one of the highest trekking passes in the world. 1. Besisahar (760 m)
The starting point of the Annapurna Circuit Trek, Besisahar is a lively town surrounded by green hills, rivers, and traditional villages. It serves as the gateway to the Annapurna region.
2. Chame (2,670 m)
The district headquarters of Manang, Chame is known for its natural hot springs, pine forests, and magnificent views of Lamjung Himal and Annapurna II.
3. Manang (3,540 m)
A beautiful Himalayan village where trekkers spend an acclimatization day. Explore ancient monasteries, local museums, and enjoy breathtaking views of Gangapurna Lake and the surrounding peaks.
4. Thorong La Pass (5,416 m)
The highest point of the trek and one of the world’s highest trekking passes. Crossing Thorong La rewards you with unforgettable panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges.
5. Muktinath (3,800 m)
A sacred pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists, Muktinath Temple is famous for its 108 water spouts, eternal flame, and spiritual significance.
6. Jomsom (2,720 m)
Located in the Kali Gandaki Valley, Jomsom is a popular trekking destination known for its apple orchards, Tibetan culture, and spectacular mountain scenery.
7. Tatopani (1,190 m)
Renowned for its natural hot springs, Tatopani offers the perfect opportunity to relax and soothe tired muscles after crossing the high mountain pass.
8. Pokhara (822 m)
The trek concludes in the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara, where you can unwind beside Phewa Lake while enjoying stunning views of the Annapurna range.
Annapurna Circuit Trek – 12 Days Itinerary
Day 1: Kathmandu – Besisahar – Chame
Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar and continue by jeep to Chame, the starting point of your trek.
Overnight: Chame (2,670 m)
Day 2: Chame – Upper Pisang
Trek through forests and mountain villages with beautiful views of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal.
Overnight: Upper Pisang (3,300 m)
Day 3: Upper Pisang – Manang
Follow the scenic trail to Manang, passing traditional villages and monasteries.
Overnight: Manang (3,540 m)
Day 4: Acclimatization in Manang
Spend the day acclimatizing with a short hike to nearby viewpoints or Gangapurna Lake.

Day 5: Manang – Yak Kharka
Trek through alpine meadows to the peaceful settlement of Yak Kharka.

Day 6: Yak Kharka – Thorong Phedi
Gradually ascend to Thorong Phedi, the base camp for the pass crossing.

Day 7: Thorong Phedi – Thorong La Pass – Muktinath
Cross the spectacular Thorong La Pass (5,416 m) and descend to the sacred town of Muktinath.

Day 12: Pokhara – Kathmandu

Essential Information
The Annapurna Circuit Trek is a moderate to challenging adventure that takes you through diverse landscapes, traditional Himalayan villages, and over the famous Thorong La Pass (5,416 m), one of the highest trekking passes in the world. The best time to undertake this trek is during spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November), when the weather is stable and the mountain views are at their best.
Accommodation is provided in comfortable mountain teahouses offering basic facilities and warm local hospitality. Trekkers can enjoy freshly prepared meals, including traditional Nepali dishes as well as a variety of international options. The trek requires an Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and a TIMS Card (if applicable under current regulations).
