Gosaikunda Trek – Itinerary
Day 01: Kathmandu to Dhunche
Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche, enjoying scenic views of green hills, rivers, and mountain landscapes. Overnight stay at Dhunche.
Day 02: Dhunche to Thulo Syabru
Begin the trek through beautiful forests and traditional villages. Continue toward Thulo Syabru and experience the local Tamang culture. Overnight at a teahouse.
Day 03: Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa (Chandanbari)
Trek through dense rhododendron and pine forests toward Chandanbari. Visit Sing Gompa and enjoy the peaceful Himalayan surroundings.
Day 04: Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda
Continue uphill through alpine landscapes toward the sacred Gosaikunda Lake at 4,380 m. Explore the surrounding lakes and enjoy magnificent mountain views.
Day 05: Explore Gosaikunda / Lauribina La Pass
Explore Gosaikunda and, depending on the route and conditions, cross the challenging Lauribina La Pass (around 4,610 m). Descend toward the next overnight stop.
Day 06: Trek to Dhunche
Continue descending through beautiful Himalayan landscapes and forests toward Dhunche. Overnight at a local hotel or teahouse.
Day 07: Dhunche to Kathmandu
Drive back to Kathmandu, enjoying the scenic countryside and mountain roads. Arrive in Kathmandu and conclude the Gosaikunda Trek.
Essential Information
The Gosaikunda Trek is a moderate to challenging Himalayan trek in the Langtang region of Nepal, usually completed in 5–7 days. The trek reaches Gosaikunda Lake at 4,380 meters, with an optional route crossing Lauribina La Pass at around 4,610 meters. The best seasons for this trek are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November), when the weather is generally clear and mountain views are spectacular. The trek begins from Dhunche and passes through forests, traditional Tamang villages, Sing Gompa, and beautiful high-altitude landscapes. Trekkers stay mainly in tea houses and lodges, where basic Nepali, Tibetan, and continental meals are available. A Langtang National Park Entry Permit and other applicable trekking permits are required. Good physical fitness, proper acclimatization, warm clothing, sufficient water intake, and awareness of altitude sickness are essential for a safe and enjoyable journey.
